Assignment

Definition:
A transfer of ownership of a trademark application or trademark registration from one entity to another.

Ordinary Skill in the Art

Definition:
That level of technical knowledge, experience, and expertise possessed by the run-of-the-mill or ordinary engineer, scientist, or designer in the technology that is relevant to the invention.

National Treatment

Definition:
A work originating in one of the member country must be given at least the same level of protection in each member country as that country gives to works created by its own citizens.

Change Of Name

Definition:
Owners of trademark applications and registrations change their names, even though the actual ownership of the application or registration has not been transferred.

Trade Secret

Definition:
A trade secret includes proprietary knowledge and other confidential information that companies keep secret to give them an advantage over their competitors.

Fanciful Marks

Definition:
Comprise terms that have been invented for the sole purpose of functioning as a trademark or service mark.
